The impact of node density over routing protocols in manet by using NS-3
الخلاصة
A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of mobile wireless nodes that can dynamically form a network without necessarily using any pre-existing infrastructure. Due to the potential ease of deployment, it is widely used in civilian & military applications. Number of nods consider on of the major factors that affect the performance of MANTE. Node density and node mobility impact the transmissions of Packets between the mobile devices which is controlled by Routing Protocols. Thus, performance of routing protocol is affected by mobility rate as well as mobility model used in the simulation. This paper presents a comprehensive evaluation study on the effect of different node density on the revised version of standard Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector (DSDV), Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV), Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR), and Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) routing protocols in MANET, and performance comparisons between these routing protocols on the basis of performance metrics (Packet Delivery Ratio, Packets Lost Ratio, End to End Delay, and Normalized Routing Load) with the help of NS-3 Simulator. The results show that AODV have less end to end delay compared to other protocols, AODV updates routing information on each node regularly while other protocols network updates whenever need. Moreover, DSR and OLSR have manged to gate better performance in terms of increasing number of nodes especially by comparing packet delivery ratio and packet loss performance metrics with the other protocols. © 2019, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
