The Department of Health Physics and Radiotherapy Technologies strives to be a key contributor in preparing highly qualified specialized personnel capable of serving a wide range of roles in the medical, engineering, and industrial sectors across both the public and private sectors.

Preparing distinguished technicians in the fields of health physics and radiotherapy to support community development and contribute to providing society with applied scientific research and studies that address its developmental and advancement needs. The department also seeks to strengthen the college’s role in building institutions and advancing engineering practices in a way that achieves the concept of comprehensive development within the framework of human values and principles. Finally, it aims to establish and reinforce cooperative relationships with all entities working in the medical and engineering fields, both locally and internationally.
Department Objectives
• Graduates are qualified technicians in the fields of health physics and radiotherapy, capable of analyzing problems, finding appropriate solutions, and skillfully handling advanced technologies.
• Preparing qualified graduates to pursue postgraduate studies inside and outside Iraq, and to work in research centers.
• Engaging in applied research in the field of health physics and radiotherapy to develop solutions for practical problems and contribute to serving the community.
• Actively participating in community development, enhancing the organization of conferences and seminars, promoting continuous education in technical engineering, and adopting a methodology for continuous improvement in all activities.
