The conference hall at Al-Hussain University College witnessed the launch of the signing ceremony of a joint cooperation protocol between the college and the Media and Communications Commission on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the presence of a wide array of official and academic figures. Leading the attendees were the Governor of the Holy City of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jasem Al-Khattabi, Member of Parliament Dr. Firas Al-Muslawi, Chairman of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee and member of the Karbala Provincial Council Dr. Mohsen Al-Kanani, along with several officials, deans of colleges, heads of professional unions, and academic and official personalities.
The event included a scientific symposium titled "Digital Transformation and Digital Addiction", which discussed key topics related to academic and technical cooperation between the two parties. The goals of this agreement include enhancing students' scientific and practical skills and developing higher education programs in the fields of media and communications.
The protocol was signed by Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Ma'arij Al-Quraawi, Dean of Al-Hussein University College, and Consulting Engineer Mithaq Al-Rubaie, Director of the Media and Communications Commission in Karbala.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dean Dr. Saleh Mahdi Ma'arij Al-Quraawi stated:
"This cooperation reflects the college’s vision of opening up to specialized bodies and providing innovative educational opportunities that keep pace with labor market developments, especially in the rapidly evolving and technologically advancing fields of media and communications."
For his part, Engineer Mithaq Al-Rubaie, Director of the Commission in Karbala, said:
"We believe in the importance of building real bridges of cooperation between the Commission and academic institutions in order to prepare a generation of students equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to face future challenges in the media and communications sector."
Governor Nassif Al-Khattabi also stated:
"We commend this qualitative cooperation that enhances Karbala’s status as a scientific and academic hub and supports young talents in innovation and technical development."
This cooperation comes within the framework of supporting educational institutions and enabling them to engage with specialized bodies, thereby contributing to the creation of a modern scientific environment that keeps pace with the rapid technological advancements in the media and communications sectors.
