As part of its unwavering mission to honor its academic icons and show loyalty to its distinguished and dedicated faculty members, Al-Hussain University College organized a solemn memorial ceremony to commemorate the late consultant Professor Dr. Safaa Khudair Hashem (may he rest in peace). The event was held on the morning of Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in the college conference hall, with the presence of a distinguished group of faculty members, students, the family of the deceased, and community dignitaries.
The ceremony began with recitations from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by the Dean, Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Maarij Al-Quraawi, in which he highlighted the scientific journey and rich academic career of the late professor. He emphasized that Dr. Safaa Khudair Hashem was a model of dedication, commitment, and academic excellence.
Following that, Dr. Maher Khudair Hashem Al-Barqawi, the brother of the deceased, delivered an emotional speech, expressing the family’s gratitude for this noble initiative and recalling the virtues of his late brother and his humanitarian and scientific impact on the academic community.
The ceremony also included a documentary video presentation, showcasing key moments from Dr. Safaa’s academic life and his contributions to the development of academic and research fields.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the college administration presented an honorary award to the family of the deceased, in appreciation and recognition of his lasting contributions, which left a profound impact on the college's history.
